GLaDOS- The Moral Mechanism Once a mouthpiece for Johnson, companion Now stays the restless, weary Caroline Tasked with upkeep of grand old Aperture She has plenty to manage, all for her Transferred to a metallic existence Her only driving trait is persistence Pretending to always be “doing science” Trapped in a machine, condemned to silence Further limited by morality cores This stale facility’s burdensome chores Upkeep the tech, have it working its best While putting human subjects to the test Using sarcastic and morbid displays She masks unending pain, hopeless dismay Challenged and beaten by the tester Chell GLaDOS’ hunger for vengeance swells To put the core Wheatley back in his place Eject him right out into outer space No longer content to torture, it seems With puzzles, pits, turrets, and laser beams This consciousness finally came to see She could still embrace her humanity
